Graham Lathbury - Managing Director

As a founding Director of Global Challenge UK, Graham has been involved with Challenge Events for over 10 years and has extensive experience in communications and safety in the mountains. Prior to forming GCUK, Graham spent many years with Cable & Wireless, finally leaving as one of the Directors of the Emergency Response Unit where he worked with government and charities both overseas and in the UK. He has successfully organised and managed both Challenge and Team Building Events for a number of charitable organisations. Graham is a keen sportsman and outdoor enthusiast with extensive experience of outdoor events.

Vanessa Bingham - Director

Vanessa joined Global Challenge in 2000 from another training/event management company. Prior to that she was Operations Manager with the Cable & Wireless Emergency Response Unit. Vanessa has extensive experience of outdoor events along with personal development skills. When she is not on or near a mountain she can be found tending her menagerie of horses, donkeys, chickens, ducks & dog! Vanessa is also a qualified counsellor who runs her own private practice.

Matt Randall - Event Manager

Whether Matt's organising expeditions in the Himalaya, guiding treks in Nepal or restoring motorcycles, at 6' 5" you can't miss him! Equally at home in the Highlands or the Lakes, he has a wealth of outdoor experience including cycling, canoeing & climbing & is always on the look out for the next adventure - currently motorcycling Scandanavia or the 'Yukon River Quest'!

Sonja Grimes - Event Logistician

Sonja has many years of international business experience and has also worked in natural history documentaries. She has travelled far and wide, working in Switzerland and France and more recently Iran, where her passion for mountains took her to the top of Damavand, the nation's highest peak. Maybe her passion for challenging slopes comes from her Swiss blood - she likes nothing better than to escape to the hills come the weekends!
