Global Challenge UK (GCUK) was delighted to be
able to stage an event with The British Red Cross
last year. As I am sure a lot of people are aware,
The British Red Cross helps people in crisis,
whoever and wherever they are. They are part of a
global voluntary network which responds to
conflicts, natural disasters and individual
emergencies.
The Three Peaks Challenge requires participates to climb the UK’s 3 highest
mountains in 24 hours. This is no mean feat and should not be underestimated.
However, with the right training this is an extremely fulfilling and self
satisfying event which not only benefits the charity but is greatly rewarding to
the individual and creates great team camaraderie.
Each team was expected to raise £2,500.00.
Thirty-two teams entered and over £100,000 was
raised. As a result of this resounding success, in
2008 The British Red Cross are running 2 events
with GCUK, another
Three Peaks Challenge and the
more demanding Twenty-Four Peaks Challenge.
GCUK designed, planned and implemented the event and are
specialists in the planning and management of outdoor events
specially designed for charity to raise funds.
"Just to say from our side the event ran smoothly, brilliantly co-ordinated, your team is a credit
to you, great org, pleasant, friendly and authoritative - a balance not easily achieved.
The anecdotal feedback has been nothing but positive."
