  Code of Practice

It is the duty of both organisers and participants in challenge events that take place in the countryside and wild, remote areas to demonstrate a responsibility and respect for other users of these resources and also to those who's responsibility it is to manage and maintain them.

Global Challenge UK run mountain challenge events strictly within the Institute of Fundraising's code of practice, a copy of which is available from their website at www.institute-of-fundraising.org.uk. Some of its principal points are as follows:

  • Maximum of 200 Participants
  • Contact and consult all landowners
  • Avoid Bank Holidays
  • No activity in populated areas between midnight & 0500
  • Liaise with other organisations to avoid clashes
  • Provide adequate facilities at all locations
  • Use experienced guides in all locations

Global Challenge UK are also members of the Fundraising Standards Board which ensures charities who work with us know that we are committed to best practices with regards to all of the current UK Outdoor Event codes of conduct.

Traditional 3 Peaks events climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon are extremely popular and GCUK are more than happy to organise this traditional Challenge on your behalf. As an alternative, GCUK can organise your Three Mountain Challenge using different peaks that still offer a significant physical test and a memorable event. This has the benefit of offering an alternative event for those who have already taken part in a classic three peaks event and are looking for something different. It also relieves the environmental pressure on the popular three peak's mountains. For a typical Three Mountain Challenge go to Typical Events.

The staff of Global Challenge UK are all keen outdoor enthusiasts and responsibility is a by-word in the planning and management of all of our Challenge events.
